COHARYIMA:

The Harakbut, Yine, Machiguenga Council

The Harakbut, Yine, Machiguenga Council COHARYIMA is one of the two intermediate organizations of FENAMAD affiliated to AIDESEP.
COHARYIMA is created to be a spokesperson, to unify, to strengthen the cultural identity, to defend the territorial rights and to contribute to the integral development of the native communities belonging to the Harakbut, Yine, Machiguenga ethnic groups within the indigenous legislation.
COHARYIMA is promoting the rescue, the protection of the cultural biodiversity of the native peoples of Madre de Dios in order to revalue, restore and cultural spaces of the Harakbut people.

COINBAMAD

The Indigenous Council of the Lower Zone of Madre de Dios

In addition to COHARYIMA, FENAMAD has another intermediate organization: the Indigenous Council of the Lower Zone of Madre de Dios – COINBAMAD to coordinate and gather the needs of the native communities. It was constituted on June 4, 2008.

The native communities of San Jacinto, Tres Islas, Puerto Arturo, El Pilar, Palma Real, Sonene, Infierno, Santa Teresita, Boca Pariamanu, Puerto Nuevo, Tipishca and Monte Salvado are part of COINBAMAD.
